World Liberty Launches Crypto Lending Platform as USD1 Stablecoin Climbs the Ranks

Trump-backed World Liberty rolls out World Liberty Markets, letting users lend and borrow digital assets while driving USD1 stablecoin usage.
World Liberty Financial, the Trump-backed decentralized finance venture, has launched World Liberty Markets, a crypto lending and borrowing platform designed to expand the utility of its fast-growing USD1 stablecoin. The new platform enables users to lend and borrow a variety of digital assets — including USD1, WLFI, Ethereum, tokenized Bitcoin, and major stablecoins — through decentralized liquidity protocols.
The addition of lending services marks a major milestone for World Liberty’s ecosystem. It allows USD1 holders to generate yield and access capital markets without leaving the platform, giving the stablecoin new use cases beyond payments and trading. The launch also strengthens WLFI’s role as the project’s governance and incentive token, expanding the reach of the network’s DeFi offerings.
Since its debut in 2025, USD1 has rapidly climbed the ranks of stablecoins, now boasting a multibillion-dollar market capitalization and growing liquidity across both centralized and decentralized exchanges. The new lending functionality adds further momentum, positioning USD1 as one of the few stablecoins with a vertically integrated ecosystem that includes custody, trading, and lending under one brand.
World Liberty Financial is also pursuing formal banking ambitions, having applied for a national trust bank charter in the U.S. to issue and custody digital assets under federal oversight. The move signals the company’s long-term goal of blending regulated financial infrastructure with permissionless blockchain technology — a hybrid model that could redefine how stablecoins operate within the U.S. financial system.
The expansion into lending cements World Liberty’s status as one of the most ambitious entrants in the stablecoin and DeFi sectors. By merging traditional financial mechanisms with on-chain transparency, the firm aims to build a comprehensive ecosystem where digital dollars like USD1 can serve both institutional and retail users without leaving the blockchain.
