WisdomTree Launches First-Ever ETP Backed by stETH — Pure, Fully-Staked Ethereum Access Lands in Europe

Published

WisdomTree’s new ETP uses only stETH for staking-yield exposure — unlocking Ethereum staking gains through a regulated investment vehicle.

WisdomTree just dropped a game-changer for institutional and retail investors in Europe — the first exchange-traded product (ETP) that holds only stETH, giving direct, liquid exposure to staked Ethereum rewards. The product — named the “WisdomTree Physical Lido Staked Ether ETP” (ticker: LIST) — trades on major European exchanges including Deutsche Börse Xetra, SIX Swiss, and Euronext (Paris & Amsterdam).

What sets this product apart is structure: instead of holding a mix of unstaked ETH and staked ETH (or keeping a liquidity buffer for redemptions), LIST is a fully-staked vehicle. That means all underlying assets are stETH (via Lido Finance), letting investors tap directly into Ethereum’s proof-of-stake yields — without having to manage validator keys, staking unstakes, or deal with typical DeFi hurdles.

At launch, LIST reportedly started with roughly 50 million USD in assets under management. With a management fee of 0.50%, it’s structured to be familiar to traditional-investors used to mutual funds, ETFs or ETPs — but with a twist: the asset inside is fundamentally part of Ethereum’s staking ecosystem.

Why this matters: stETH is the main “liquid staking token” for ETH — it represents ETH staked on-chain through Lido and accrues staking rewards while remaining tradable and usable in DeFi. By wrapping stETH in a regulated ETP, WisdomTree bridges traditional finance infrastructure (custody, exchanges, regulated securities) with the yield-earning potential of staking.

For European institutions or investors who want Ethereum exposure — but without self-custody, smart-contract risk, or the intricacies of on-chain staking — LIST offers a clean, compliant, easy-to-access alternative. And for the broader crypto market, this launch marks an important step toward mainstream recognition of liquid staking tokens as investable financial assets.

In short: WisdomTree isn’t just offering ETH exposure — it’s offering ETH staking yield in a traditional, regulated wrapper. This could reshape how staking gains are viewed, traded, and distributed — making “yield + compliance” a viable combo for real-world portfolios.
