US & UK Launch Transatlantic Taskforce to Shape Digital Asset Regulation

Published

US & UK form task force to align crypto rules—stablecoins, AML, custody & cross-border capital access front and center.

The United States and the United Kingdom have formed a joint task force, called the Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future, to align regulations across digital assets and capital markets. Chaired by the US Treasury and UK Treasury, and including regulators like the SEC and FCA, the group aims to issue recommendations within 180 days.

Areas under review include stablecoin oversight, anti-money laundering standards, custody of digital assets, and ways to reduce regulatory friction for firms operating cross-border between the two countries. For crypto investors and firms, this means potential rules that are more harmonized, easier to comply with across jurisdictions, and clearer for investing, raising capital, or launching digital-asset products.
