Solana ETF Race Heats Up as Grayscale and Bitwise Battle for Institutional Flows

Published

Solana ETF race ignites: Bitwise and Grayscale launch competing funds with staking yield—altcoin access just went institutional.

The race to dominate the Solana investment arena just turned serious—Grayscale Investments has entered with its own Solana product, joining Bitwise Asset Management in bringing regulated Solana exposure to Wall Street. Bitwise’s Solana Staking ETF (ticker BSOL) captured about $70 million in first-day inflows, signaling strong early demand. Grayscale’s Solana entry (ticker GSOL) ups the ante, offering investors not only Solana price exposure but staking rewards—approximately 5–6 % annualised—on staked holdings. With Solana now inching into the institutional fold, this could mark a broader shift: altcoins beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum are earning regulated access and yield structures. For crypto investors this means more diversified vehicles, deeper liquidity, and an ecosystem where Solana stands alongside the majors as a mainstream asset. The competitive landscape for altcoin ETFs is heating up fast—capital flows may shift, strategies may evolve, and Solana is clearly in the spotlight.
