Robinhood Expands Into Crypto Staking, Futures, and Tokenized Stocks

Robinhood adds staking, crypto futures, and stock tokens in a major push to become a full-service digital finance platform.
Robinhood has unveiled one of its most ambitious expansions yet, adding crypto staking, perpetual futures, and tokenized stock trading to its platform. The rollout marks a clear shift toward building a fully integrated financial ecosystem where traditional assets and crypto coexist under one user-friendly interface.
In the U.S., the company has launched staking services for Ethereum and Solana, allowing users to earn on-chain rewards directly through the app without managing validator nodes or technical wallets. This addition gives retail investors simple access to yield generation that was previously limited to advanced DeFi users.
Across Europe, Robinhood is rolling out perpetual futures for major cryptocurrencies, with up to 7x leverage on assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Sui. This move opens new opportunities for traders to manage exposure around the clock, blending the accessibility of retail platforms with the sophistication of professional trading tools.
In a further leap toward tokenization, Robinhood is introducing 24/7 trading of tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs for European users. These digital assets mirror traditional equities but can be bought, sold, and settled instantly — removing many of the friction points associated with legacy markets.
The company is also updating its backend infrastructure, introducing lower trading fees for high-volume users, enhanced cost-basis tracking for tax purposes, and improved API support for developers and algorithmic traders.
This suite of new features positions Robinhood as more than just a brokerage app — it’s evolving into a hybrid financial network bridging traditional markets, digital assets, and DeFi-style yield opportunities. With staking income, derivatives, and tokenized equities all under one roof, Robinhood is aiming to redefine what the future of retail investing looks like.
