Ondo to Put BitGo Stock On-Chain Following NYSE Debut

Published

Ondo plans to tokenize BitGo’s NYSE-listed shares, letting investors trade the stock on blockchain and bridge traditional and digital markets.

Ondo Finance — a firm focused on regulated tokenized securities — has announced plans to bring BitGo’s newly public stock onto blockchain networks shortly after its IPO debut on the New York Stock Exchange. This marks a significant step in blending traditional financial markets with on-chain liquidity and decentralized settlement.

BitGo’s listing on the NYSE under the ticker BTGO opened the door for it to become one of the first major crypto infrastructure firms available to public market investors. Ondo intends to capitalize on that debut by issuing tokenized BitGo shares, enabling investors to hold, transfer, and trade BitGo equity on blockchain platforms alongside other digital assets.

Tokenizing a publicly traded security allows fractional ownership, 24/7 settlement, and seamless movement across decentralized finance rails — benefits that don’t exist within the normal ecosystem of traditional exchanges. Investors could, in theory, trade tokenized BitGo shares on decentralized venues, use them as collateral in lending markets, or integrate them into automated strategies without needing a broker.

Ondo’s plan follows a broader trend of traditional financial infrastructure coming on-chain. As more companies go public and more institutional capital seeks digital alternatives to legacy processes, tokenized securities are increasingly seen as a bridge between regulated markets and programmable finance.

By moving BitGo’s stock on-chain, Ondo is betting that demand for seamless, blockchain-native equity trading is real — and that the infrastructure is finally in place to support mainstream adoption. In doing so, it underscores the accelerating convergence between capital markets and decentralized technology.
