Ondo, JPMorgan, Mastercard & Ripple Complete Landmark Cross-Border Treasury Settlement on XRP Ledger

The pilot demonstrated near real-time settlement between public blockchain infrastructure and traditional banking rails outside normal banking hours.
A major milestone for tokenized finance was reached this week as Ondo Finance announced the successful completion of a pilot transaction connecting the XRP Ledger with traditional interbank settlement infrastructure through partnerships involving JPMorgan’s Kinexys platform, Mastercard, and Ripple.
The transaction demonstrated how tokenized U.S. Treasuries can move across borders in near real time while interacting directly with traditional banking rails. According to Ondo, the pilot marks the first time a tokenized treasury fund settled between public blockchain infrastructure and global banking systems outside of traditional banking hours.
The process involved multiple moving parts across both blockchain and institutional finance systems. Ondo processed Ripple’s OUSG redemption directly on XRP Ledger infrastructure. Mastercard’s Multi-Token Network then routed payment instructions into Kinexys by JPMorgan, which ultimately delivered U.S. dollar settlement to Ripple’s Singapore bank account.
The broader significance goes far beyond a single pilot transaction. The test effectively showcased how tokenized real world assets can interact with existing financial institutions instead of operating in isolated crypto ecosystems. For years, critics argued blockchain finance lacked meaningful integration with the global banking system. This pilot moves the conversation from theory toward live financial interoperability.
The development also reinforces a growing industry push toward 24/7 financial markets. Traditional banking systems still operate within regional settlement windows and business hours, while blockchain networks function continuously. Connecting those two systems in real time has become one of the central goals of tokenization infrastructure providers.
For XRP Ledger specifically, the pilot adds another example of Ripple positioning XRP infrastructure within cross-border liquidity and institutional settlement discussions. Meanwhile, Ondo continues expanding its role as one of the leading tokenized treasury issuers within the broader real world asset sector.
The implications for markets could become increasingly important as institutions explore tokenized bonds, equities, money market funds, and other yield-bearing instruments that can settle globally without relying on legacy clearing delays.
The race toward tokenized finance is no longer just about crypto-native experimentation. Major banks, payment giants, and blockchain firms are now actively building the rails for a financial system that operates continuously across borders and public blockchain networks.
