MoneyGram Enables Crypto-to-Cash Withdrawals for Kraken Users Globally

Published

Kraken users can now convert crypto to cash at MoneyGram locations worldwide, expanding real-world access to digital assets.

MoneyGram is expanding its role in crypto by enabling cash withdrawals for users of Kraken, giving customers a direct way to convert digital assets into physical cash.

The partnership allows Kraken users to withdraw crypto in hundreds of fiat currencies across more than 100 countries using MoneyGram’s global network of roughly 500,000 locations.

The service is designed to address one of the main friction points in crypto—off-ramps. While transferring funds on-chain is fast, converting those funds into usable cash has often been slower and more complex. This integration creates a more direct path from crypto balances to local currency.

Users initiate the withdrawal through Kraken, where identity verification is handled, then pick up cash at a participating MoneyGram location. In many cases, payouts are available quickly after the transaction is processed.

The rollout is expected to expand across multiple regions, including the United States, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and parts of Asia, with potential future support for additional payment options beyond cash pickup.

The move reflects a broader trend of integrating crypto infrastructure with traditional financial systems, making digital assets more accessible for everyday use.
