JPMorgan Forecasts Bitcoin to Hit ~$170K in Next 6-12 Months

JPMorgan projects Bitcoin could reach ~$170K in the next 6–12 months, citing normalized futures leverage and improved value versus gold.
JPMorgan analysts see major upside for Bitcoin, projecting a price of around $170,000 over the next 6 to 12 months. Their bullish case is built on the view that the crypto market has completed a significant deleveraging phase—far less risk in the futures market—and that Bitcoin’s volatility-adjusted value relative to gold is now unusually attractive.
They note that the open-interest ratio in Bitcoin perpetual futures has returned to historic norms, removing a major drag on price. At the same time, gold’s rising volatility makes Bitcoin look better by comparison. If Bitcoin’s market value were to match private-sector investment levels in gold (when adjusted for risk), the implied price target is near the $170K mark.
For crypto investors, this underscores a strategic window: stable markets, normalized leverage, and shifting macro comparisons all point to possible upside. That said, it doesn’t mean smooth sailing—regulatory changes, market sentiment or macro surprise can all still derail the path.
