Kraken-Backed KRAKAcquisition Corp Completes $345M Upsized IPO, Begins Nasdaq Trading

Published

Kraken-backed SPAC KRAKAcquisition raises $345M in an upsized IPO and begins trading on Nasdaq, targeting crypto infrastructure deals.

Kraken-backed KRAKAcquisition Corp has completed an upsized initial public offering, raising $345 million and officially beginning trading on the Nasdaq. The offering exceeded its original size, signaling strong institutional demand for crypto-adjacent public market vehicles.

The company sold 34.5 million units at $10 each, with each unit consisting of one share of common stock and a fraction of a warrant exercisable at a later date. The full exercise of the underwriters’ overallotment option pushed total proceeds to the higher end of expectations.

KRAKAcquisition Corp is backed by Kraken, alongside prominent venture firms, and is structured as a special purpose acquisition company focused on the digital asset ecosystem. The SPAC intends to pursue a merger with a business operating in crypto, blockchain infrastructure, or related fintech sectors that bridge traditional finance and decentralized systems.

The successful IPO and Nasdaq debut arrive as public market interest in crypto-related firms shows renewed momentum. Unlike retail-driven speculative cycles, this move reflects institutional capital positioning itself for longer-term exposure to regulated, scalable crypto infrastructure.

For the broader digital asset industry, the listing underscores a shift toward maturation. Capital formation through public markets — especially when tied to established players like Kraken — suggests growing confidence that crypto infrastructure companies are moving closer to mainstream financial integration rather than operating at the fringes of the market.
