Helius Bets Big on Solana: $500M Fundraise to Build Next-Gen Treasury Strategy

Helius raises $500M+ to shift its treasury strategy to Solana: SOL as reserve + DeFi yield while scaling via warrants.
Helius Medical Technologies (Nasdaq: HSDT) has secured over $500 million in a private investment-in-public-equity (PIPE) round led by Pantera Capital and Summer Capital to launch a new corporate treasury strategy with Solana as its backbone. The deal also includes stapled warrants that, if fully exercised, could push the total capital raised to around $1.25 billion. Net proceeds will be used primarily to acquire SOL (Solana’s native token), establish treasury operations, and generate yield via staking, lending, and DeFi-adjacent activities—while maintaining a conservative risk profile.
Under the new structure, Helius will be guided by established leaders like Joseph Chee (incoming Director and Executive Chairman), Cosmo Jiang (Board Observer from Pantera), and Dan Morehead (Strategic Advisor). Over the next 12–24 months, the company plans to scale its SOL holdings through market programs and proven financing strategies, aiming to maximize SOL per share. With this initiative, Helius joins a wave of public companies transforming their balance sheets into digital asset treasuries—but with a twist: incorporating productive yield mechanisms native to Solana.
