FalconX Acquires 21Shares, Uniting Institutional Trading and Crypto ETP Infrastructure

Published

FalconX buys 21Shares, merging institutional brokerage and crypto ETP platforms to deepen access across global regulated markets.

FalconX, a leading institutional digital-asset prime brokerage, has announced its acquisition of 21Shares, the Swiss-based issuer of more than $11 billion in crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) spanning 55 listed vehicles. The deal brings together FalconX’s trading, derivatives, and credit platform with 21Shares’ deep product-infrastructure, marking a major step in traditional finance integration with digital assets.

Founded in 2018, 21Shares will continue to be led by its current leadership and operate independently under the FalconX umbrella, while their existing ETPs will maintain their investment objectives and structure. FalconX said the acquisition supports its ambition to bridge listed markets and digital-asset infrastructure, expanding its reach across the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The transaction underscores the trend of consolidation in the crypto space as institutional players seek scale, regulated product access, and global market coverage.
