Coinbase Launches Public Token-Sales Platform — MON by Monad Labs First Up

Published

Coinbase launches a retail token-sale platform, kicking off with Monad’s MON token—public access to early crypto launches returns.

Coinbase is rolling out a new platform that allows retail investors to participate in public token sales, marking a major shift in how crypto projects raise capital. The exchange says around one token sale per month will be hosted, with the first offering being the MON token from Monad Labs.

Investors will purchase via USD Coin (USDC), and the platform features a “bottom-up” allocation algorithm aimed at favoring smaller bidders over big speculative buyers. Monad will open its public sale in mid-November ahead of its mainnet launch, distributing 7.5 billion MON tokens (7.5 % of total supply) at just $0.025 each.

For crypto investors, this signals the return of the public token-offering era—now built with institutional-grade safeguards and mainstream exchange infrastructure. The move could widen access, improve transparency in launches, and potentially reshape how early-stage Web3 capital gets raised.
