CME to Launch SOL & XRP Futures Options in October

Published

CME adds options on SOL & XRP futures Oct 13—expanding regulated altcoin derivatives with daily, monthly & quarterly expiries.

CME Group is gearing up to offer options on Solana (SOL) and XRP futures starting October 13, pending regulatory approval. These contracts will be available in both standard and micro sizes, with expiries offered daily, monthly, and quarterly—giving traders more flexibility in risk management.

SOL and XRP futures have already seen strong institutional uptake this year, with record trading volumes and open interest driving demand. Market makers are preparing to support the new options contracts, ensuring liquidity from launch.

For crypto investors, this expansion adds regulated tools for hedging and exposure—SOL and XRP holders now have options, not just futures, to express directional views or protect gains. The move highlights growing institutional appetite for altcoin derivatives and further cements CME’s role as the gateway for regulated crypto products.
