Automating Fund Tokens: Chainlink, UBS & DigiFT Push Regulated Tokenization in Hong Kong

Chainlink, UBS & DigiFT to automate tokenized fund lifecycle in Hong Kong—moving subscriptions, redemptions & operations onto blockchain.
Chainlink Labs, UBS Asset Management, and DigiFT have launched a collaborative initiative in Hong Kong to automate the lifecycle of tokenized investment funds. Under the Cyberport Blockchain & Digital Asset Pilot Subsidy Scheme, the project replaces many of the manual steps in fund operations—like subscriptions, redemptions, settlement, and record-keeping—with smart contract-based automation to reduce errors and costs.
In the system, investors will submit orders through DigiFT’s regulated distributor smart contracts; Chainlink’s Digital Transfer Agent will validate and record those orders on-chain, triggering the issuance or redemption of tokenized funds via UBS’s token product contracts built to meet institutional standards. The infrastructure is designed to be compliant, transparent, and scalable, following global token standards and regulatory oversight. Hong Kong aims to reinforce its leadership in regulated digital asset markets by marrying institutional credibility with blockchain efficiency.
