AI Browsers Meet Crypto: Donut Labs Raises $22 M to Build Next-Gen Agentic Trading Front End

Donut Labs raises $22 M to build a crypto-native AI browser that researches and executes trades—moving trading tools into the browser era.
Donut Labs has secured $22 million in a seed and pre-seed round to build what it calls the first agentic AI browser designed specifically for crypto trading. The New York-based startup says its browser will do more than display web pages: it can research markets, analyse data across sources, and execute trades—all from one interface.
According to founder Chris Zhu, the goal is to transform the browser from a passive tool into an active partner for traders—especially those navigating volatile markets. Backed by Bitkraft Ventures, Sequoia China and others, Donut’s tech is built with layered security, ensuring the AI agent has no direct access to user wallets or balances.
For crypto investors, this signals a new frontier: the browser itself becomes a trading instrument. With automation, real-time data synthesis and user intent baked into the interface, trading workflows could shrink from minutes to seconds. While full rollout details are pending, Donut’s ambitions underline how AI + crypto is accelerating—and how tools are shifting from platforms to intelligent experiences.
