Casper Unveils Multi-Year Roadmap for Regulated RWAs, AI Payments & Quantum-Safe Blockchain Infrastructure By Matt Brienen Published: 2026-05-12T17:47:34+00:00 Casper Network has published the “Casper Manifest,” a multi-year technical roadmap aimed at positioning the blockchain as infrastructure for regulated real-world assets, institutional finance, and the emerging machine economy. The roadmap introduces nine major protocol initiatives designed to expand Casper’s functionality across compliance, developer tooling, AI payments, security, and user experience. One of the biggest developments is full Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility, allowing Solidity developers, MetaMask users, and existing Ethereum tooling to operate on Casper alongside its existing WebAssembly architecture. Casper also plans to introduce gasless transactions, smart accounts, biometric authentication support, and batch transaction functionality designed to make blockchain interactions feel more like traditional consumer applications. The network says these upgrades are intended to reduce onboarding friction while improving usability for both retail and enterprise participants. A major focus of the roadmap centers around regulated tokenization infrastructure. Casper plans to support compliant security token frameworks aligned with ERC-3643 standards, including identity verification, jurisdictional controls, permissioned transfers, and compliance tooling designed for institutional-grade real-world asset issuance. Privacy is another key pillar of the Manifest. Casper outlined plans for confidential transaction infrastructure that can preserve user privacy while still supporting regulatory oversight and auditing requirements for enterprise and financial applications. The roadmap also targets the emerging machine economy and AI-driven commerce. Casper plans to integrate the X402 payment standard, enabling autonomous AI agents and machines to perform programmable micropayments for APIs, compute resources, data access, and digital services without relying on traditional billing rails or human interaction. Another notable initiative is quantum-safe cryptography. Casper says it intends to deploy hybrid account systems capable of supporting both classical and post-quantum transaction signing methods, positioning the network for long-term security as quantum computing technology evolves. According to the rollout timeline, X402 micropayment functionality is expected first, while EVM compatibility, compliant token standards, and broader infrastructure upgrades are planned throughout 2026. Privacy enhancements and quantum-resistant architecture are expected to continue expanding into 2027.
